About Readability Scores

Flesch Reading Ease: Scores range from 0-100, with higher scores indicating easier readability. Most professional writing aims for a score of 60-70 (8th-9th grade level).

Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level: Indicates the US school grade level needed to understand the text. For example, a score of 8.0 means an 8th grader should be able to understand the content.

Best Practices: For general audiences, aim for an 8th-grade reading level (Flesch Reading Ease of 60-70). For professional or technical audiences, higher grade levels may be appropriate.

Note: Readability scores are estimates and may not perfectly reflect how easy your text is to understand. They don't account for factors like audience knowledge, context, or formatting. Use these scores as a guide, not an absolute measure. This tool is provided as-is for educational purposes.
