WPM Check has no accounts, no sign-up and no database of visitors.

What stays in your browser

The reading speed test, comprehension test, calculators and readability scores all run on your device. To make them more useful, the site saves a few things in your browser’s local storage:

• Your last 30 test results (date, passage, wpm and quiz score), so you can track progress.
• Your preferred reading and speaking speeds in the calculators.
• Text in the readability checker, only if you tick “Remember text on this device”.

This data never leaves your device and we can’t see it. You can delete it all here:

The optional AI helper

On the readability checker you can ask an AI to rewrite your text at a target grade or explain what makes it hard. Only when you press one of those buttons is the text sent, through Vercel’s AI Gateway, to a language model to produce the answer. We don’t store it or use it for anything else.

Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless and does not collect personal data or track you across sites.
